When you are transitioning a parent or loved one from their home into an assisted living, independent or memory care community, it is an emotional time. It can be stressful, overwhelming, and at times the feeling of helplessness and naivety are unbearable. My family certainly felt all of those emotions when we realized my father-in-law could no longer be cared for in his home. I look back at that time and wish we could have had a trusted advisor to help us navigate the transition. After that experience, I decided to become that advisor and devote my career to ensuring families understand the process as well as the costs to make the right decision for their parent or loved one.
